Partner Voucher Platform

Challenge year
2025

Vouchers are a powerful marketing tool — but currently complicated and inflexible for many businesses. Our digital partner voucher platform provides a simple and transparent solution customers can buy, gift, or redeem vouchers online, while partners benefit from full transparency and easy management. As a special feature, vouchers can also be distributed through contests or giveaways, helping businesses and partners increase reach and community engagement.

1. Problem

Many companies want to offer their customers or employees vouchers for products and services from partner businesses.
However, today there are:

  • few flexible platforms for regional partner networks
  • complex voucher handling (printing, distribution, redemption)
  • a lack of transparency for partners regarding redeemed vouchers

As a result, businesses and their partners face additional administrative work and lose potential for customer loyalty and engagement.

2. Solution Idea

We are developing a digital voucher platform that partner companies can easily use.

  • Customers: buy, gift, and redeem vouchers (QR code / one-time code)
  • Partners: create, redeem, and view voucher statistics
  • Administrators: manage all vouchers centrally and gain insights into usage, revenue, and partner activity
  • Additional feature: vouchers can also be distributed through contests and giveaways, e.g., via social media campaigns or newsletters

3. Objective

Within the hackathon, we aim to develop a Minimal Viable Product (MVP).
Depending on team size and available time, participants can work on individual parts or modules — it is not necessary to complete the entire system.

Possible MVP components:

  • Basic UI for purchasing and redeeming vouchers
  • Partner dashboard for overview and redemption
  • Simple backend for management and analytics
  • Contest module for automatic voucher creation and assignment to winners

(Teams can focus on selected modules to present a functional prototype.)

4. Target Groups

  • End customers: parents, families, young adults
  • Partner businesses: shops, service providers, event organizers, companies
  • Administrators / developers: as platform operators
  • Community & social media followers who are engaged through contests

5. Impact / Benefits

  • Strengthens Babsy.ch’s regional partner network
  • Simplifies voucher management for partners
  • Increases visibility and reach through digital gifting (e.g., via email or social media)
  • Scalable and adaptable for other partner networks and cities

6. Additional Feature Idea

For example, the app could unlock a voucher only when the customer is physically present at a partner location (e.g., in a café).
That way, the waiter can simply check the activated screen without needing to scan anything — making redemption even smoother and faster.
